Weekend wind-up: Back to work and missing the sun, Sephora hauls and new moisturiser

This week I'm afraid it's back to work and the cold weather. I am thoroughly missing Spain and my holiday from last week. It's been very cold here in the UK and having sunshine really makes a difference to my mood and outlook. Hopefully it will start warming up soon and we can have the warm weather too.
Whilst I was in Spain I did make a sneaky trip to Sephora and there was a haul post yesterday if you would like to see what I bought. I wish Sephora would come to the UK but it's probably a good thing for my bank account that it doesn't!
One thing I am really loving from that haul is the Origins GinZing moisturiser. The smell alone is reason enough to try it out. I'm sure this will be making into my February favourites shortly. I would love to know what moisturiser you use- have you got a firm favourite? Especially those with dry skin, I am constantly on the hunt to solve my dry dull skin.

This weekend I am going up north to see my grandparents and to take them out to see a surprise concert. Coming from a musical family where playing in a brass band and being a miner was part of the norm, I took them to see Black Dyke brass band as a birthday surprise, we also went out for dinner. Now that I am slightly older, it is really nice to be able to take my family out and treat them.

I've also been loving the series 'Back in time for the weekend' on BBC in which a family gives up 21st century technology and travels back in time to discover leisure time in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The Ashby Hawkins family have their home decorated to suit the era and try out all of the games, gadgets and lifestyle of that decade- definitely worth a watch. Next week is the 90s which I'm sure will bring back lots of fun memories- gameboys, arrival of the internet, going to the gym and home makeover shows!

I would love to know what you have been up to- what is your favourite show right now?

Weekend wind-up: Holidays, blogging break, Sephora hauls and cocktails

This week I jetted off to Torrevieja in Spain for a must needed rest. I joined my parents out in a two bed apartment with my sister for the week. Apart from having to get up at 3am to go to the airport, I had such a relaxing week and feel much more human again.
I've found it quite hard to blog recently, especially when it is so grey and miserable outside. Not only does it effect your mood but it really narrows the window in which you can take good photos for your blog. I've decided to do 3 posts a week for the moment instead of 4 as I really want to put up content that I feel proud of and not just churn out rubbish for the sake of it.
My holiday has refreshed my brain and mood and I feel more excited to blog again. During the week we did a bit of sunbathing, walked along the beach and ate lots of lovely food including tapas and paella. The weather was very good for February, we had 3 sunny days which were around 16 degrees and hot enough to lay in the sun, much better than I was expecting. Obviously all the lovely food we ate had to be washed down with some lovely cocktails too, this photo was taken at a little cocktail hut along the sea front near where we stayed.
We also visited Alicante for the day where I had to make a trip to Sephora. There will be a haul coming your way very shortly. I also got some new clothing items which I will show you too.
If you missed it, I did a Space NK haul and also a DIY for home decor photo frames too.

I hope you had a lovely week

Weekend wind-up: Yummy breakfasts, favourite nail polishes and an updated makeup routine

This week has been pretty miserable here in London. I had to go on the train to work instead of cycling because it has been raining all the time. Good news though, it is starting to warm up a bit and there are very small signs that Spring is on its way.

You may have seen from my January healthy lifestyle post that I have been trying to eat breakfast. I've always struggled to eat before 11/12 o clock so I've been having a few yummy meals to try and get myself to eat breakfast. One of my favourites so far is homemade guacamole on toast. I mash up 1 avocado, chop two tomatoes and add the juice of 1/2 a lemon, season with salt and pepper and there you go! This breakfast works out at around 450 calories and keeps me feeling full until lunchtime. I've also been loving spinach and cheese omelettes which are around 300 calories.

I feel I have settled into a routine with my no fuss minimal makeup routine. I wrote a blogpost here with all the products I am currently loving on a daily basis.
I also wrote a blogpost about my top 3 most worn nail polishes. These are all shellac polishes which I do myself at home and last two weeks without chipping. I wrote all about how you can achieve these at home without paying the nail salon price tags. These polishes are cheaper than OPI, Zoya, Smith and Cult and Nails Inc, definitely worth checking out if you hate painting your nails every few days.

I haven't really ventured out much this week as the weather has been so rubbish, I'm really looking forward to my Spain holiday- 2 weeks and counting!

What have you been up to this week? I would love to know

Weekend wind-up: Dinner at Kettners, favourite skincare and my current wishlist

It's that time again where I round up my week and let you know what I have been up to.
It has been quite a quiet week, I am very much looking forward to the middle of February as I will be jetting off to Spain with my family for a week of relaxation and fingers cross- a bit of sunshine! I'm sure there will probably be a Sephora haul coming your way too so watch out for that.

Yesterday I went to restaurant called Kettners in Soho, London which was recommended by a friend as it is about to close ('in its present form'- not entirely sure what that means!?) so we went for dinner. The food was pricey but delicious. I had a creamy mushroom dish on brioche followed by lobster Mac and cheese and guess what- I had pudding too with a vanilla chocolate bomb with chocolate mousse inside with passion fruit curd- delicious!

This week there have been two blogposts if you missed them, I did a favourite skincare post where I shared my current skincare routine and all of my favourite products, you can have a read here if you missed it. I am also currently in love with Oliver Bonas and all the new lovely things on their site for this spring. I put together my absolute favourites in a post here if you would like to read it. I'm sure I will be making a cheeky purchase very shortly

I hope you have had a lovely week

Weekend wind-up: New jeans, trying to grow my brows and a fitness update

This week has been quite a quiet one really, I've really been trying to keep to my healthy regime and I do feel really good for it. If you haven't read about the changes I've made recently, you can read that blog post here. This week I cycled 54 miles to work (3 days) and did an exercise DVD (30 day shred) on 1 other day. I've also been trying to drink more water and have had a juice each morning for breakfast (I'm really proud of myself because I haven't eaten breakfast since my mum made me before I went to school!) I can thoroughly recommend the nutribullet so far. I have yet to use my spiralizer but I have bought some courgettes to give it a try so I will keep you updated as the weeks go on.

This week I purchased the Shavata brow strengthener after seeing Sam Chapman from Pixiwoo recommend it on instagram. I'm sure I am not the only one who over plucked my eyebrows as a teenager and now find it so hard to grow them back. I'm sure if this product works I will be raving about it on my blog- fingers crossed!

Finally I bought some new jeans. I have found it really difficult recently to find the right pair. I have always worn Miss Selfridge jeans for years but recently I've found that since cycling my body shape has changed and they are too baggy around the waist. The next size down is tighter but still not right so I've been looking for some new jeans and I found these 'Casey' relaxed skinny fit jeans from dorothy perkins. They were only £20.80 in the sale which is still going on (bargain!) I got the ones on the left in the picture but I may have to invest in some more. What's even better is I'm finally back into size 10! If you struggle finding jeans that fit around the waist I would recommend giving these a try, they also come in different lengths too.

I hope you had a lovely weekend

Weekend wind up: 8 year anniversary, 2015 favourites, Kate Somerville and beating off the January blues!

It's that time again where I round up the week by letting you know what I have been up to. This week I had to go back to work (boooo!) It's been lovely to have a couple of weeks off over the Christmas period so it was a bit of a shock having to get up early again!
Monday was my 8 year anniversary with my boyfriend, we've been together since university and decided to celebrate with a lovely walk around Epping forest and a Chinese takeaway. Very nice indeed- obviously we filled our pockets with quality street as we walked around which made the walk even better!

The 2015 favourites posts on my blog have now come to an end- if you missed any of them you can click the links below:
Part one was: my favourite foundations and concealers
Part 2 was: blushers, bronzers and highlighters
Part 3: All about the eyes
Part 4: Mascara and brows
Part 5: Lips

I've also been trying to beat the January blues. It's always difficult after Christmas as you often try to tighten your purse strings and the weather is miserable and dark. I find the best way to combat this is to do exercise! I've cycled 36 miles this week to work and hope (weather permitting) to up that to 54 miles next week. It really helps me to de stress and to feel good about myself after eating too much over Christmas. It also saves me £5.20 each day! I also booked a holiday and a spa before Christmas spending came to an end. During February I'm going to Spain with my family for a week which is so great to look forward to. I also bought a spa voucher with my sister which we are going to book to pamper ourselves soon!

I've also been looking at Kate Somerville as a brand. It's been cropping up on a few blogs recently and I would really like to give some of the products a try. Do you have any recommendations?

Weekend wind-up: Christmas, cooking my first Christmas dinner and a new handbag!

Well, it feels like Christmas has finally ended (booooo!) The tree is down and I'm back into work mode. I had such a lovely time with all my family and feel thoroughly spoilt! As I write this I am currently making my way through the vast tubs of chocolate that I got. I have to say that I'm really excited that Wispa are now in the Cadbury Heroes tubs!

This year I played host for the first time. For Christma,s my boyfriend's family came to stay and I cooked Christmas dinner! I have to say it was a lot less stressful than I thought it would be. Dinner was so tasty and went very smoothly except for forgetting to cook the stuffing! (We all have to forget something, right?) I went to my family for a few days before Christmas and we opened our presents from each other- you can see my 'What I got for Christmas' post here. Then on the 23rd I made my way back to London to start my hostess with the mostess routine! Christmas basically consisted of being in pyjamas most of the time, eating way too much and watching a lot of Christmas movies! I did hit the shops on boxing day (Big mistake) but it was far too busy for me. At least I saved some pennies.

I am now getting back into work mode and look forward to a new year!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and new year

Weekend wind-up: Afternoon tea, new blush palettes from the high street and feeling Christmassy!

This week has been a very busy one with work. I've been out a lot in the evenings and working over the weekend. Nevertheless, I've had time to put my Christmas tree up! It look's so pretty! This year, I went for a copper, grey and white theme. I got some new baubles from christmasstyle.co.uk . They were very reasonably priced but I did have to sit and tie on ALL the strings (why do people make bauble without them- I ask you!) This took a long time but I'm very please with the result.

Last weekend, I went for afternoon tea with my sister in Harrogate, Yorkshire. We went to Betty's tea rooms which I have wanted to go to for a long time. I wasn't disappointed. I wrote a review here with lots more pictures and info about our afternoon tea experience. I thoroughly recommend it!

I also did a blogpost on two new blush palettes I have been trying out from the drugstore (Superdrug). Since purchasing the Hourglass ambient lighting edit I wanted to see if I could find a dupe/ cheaper alternative. I wrote a post all about these two from makeup revolution and freedom and you can see which one I prefer here.

How are your Christmas preparations going? Have you bought any presents yet? I have to say (smug face) I am feeling quite organised this year, I did quite a lot of Christmas shopping last weekend and only have a few bits and bobs/ stocking fillers to get!

I hope you had a lovely week

Weekend windup: New purchases, flat lays and Byron's Christmas menu!

This week has been a very VERY quiet one. I haven't really been out at all except for work and going out for dinner at Byron. Now, I love a good burger so when I got an email about their new Christmas menu I had to go and try it. Their menu includes the Father Cheesemas burger, Caramel and salted pretzel milkshake, Holy Macaroni and Oreo cheesecake- yum!!! I definitely recommend paying a visit soon.
I have also made some naughty purchases. I finally caved in to buying the Ambient lighting edit palette. A full review will be heading your way this week but I have to say, I am so glad I bought it!
I also bought one of the limited edition sets from the Nars and Steven Klein collaboration. You can read my blog post all about it here.

I've also been posting some make up of the day flat lays over on my instagram @ihartbeauty. These only appear on instagram so I would love you to check them out and let me know what you think!

Weekend windup: Elf the musical, feel unique haul and rubbish weather!

This week has been much quieter than last week, I've been staying in a lot more as the weather as been so rubbish! It's cold, miserable and dark so early!
I did however venture out to see Elf the Musical on press night on Thursday. There were a lot of celebs there including Cheryl Fernandez Versini who was there to support Kimberley Walsh who plays the character Jovie in the show. There was then an after party in Hamley's toy shop!
I thoroughly enjoyed the show, the set was brilliant and Elf (played by Ben Forster) was 5* The band was also brilliant conducted by Stuart Morley.
If you can grab some cheaper tickets- I would recommend going to see it! You can still pick up single £30 tickets or if you want to sit all together you are looking at £62.50+ You can book tickets here.

I also make a feel unique purchase so I could get the free gift! See my blog post all about it here. You get so many lovely things in the goody bag if you spend £100. There will be a lots of reviews coming your way about what I bought next week! Including Tanya Burr's Christmas collection and the Nars/Steven Klein collaboration.

I hope you had a lovely week

Weekend wind-up: Birthday celebrations, spa retreat and Halloween!

This week has been a very busy one, but thoroughly enjoyable! I started off the week with my birthday tea party which I hosted at home with my close friends. I made cupcakes, puff pastry pesto swirls, sandwiches and we washed it all down with a glass or two of prosecco! It's definitely been a week revolving around eating lots of lovely food. On Monday evening I went out to Mem and Laz in Angel, Islington, which is a turkish/greek restaurant. This is one of my favourite and does such tasty food, I definitely recommend it if you are in London and are looking for an affordable yet scrumptious dinner!

I was then treated to a surprise lunch on Tuesday by my boyfriend at Simpsons on the Strand. It was very posh and very delicious! I had fish cakes with a poached egg and a lovely sauce for starter, Stuffed pork tenderloin for main and white wine jelly for desert! He definitely won lots of brownie points on this one!

I then went to a spa on Thursday with one of my best friends at Belton Woods in Grantham. We got a deal on Spabreaks.com and for £79 we had Bed, breakfast, dinner, full use of the spa facilities AND a choice between a facial or manicure. It was incredible. My facial was amazing, the spa used Espa products which I am definitely going to be looking into further. My skin was soon soft and radiant when I came out!

As I am writing this post, I am about to get ready for a halloween house party. I have decided to go as a dead pirate- you can see the costume I picked here!

I hope you have had a lovely week, I wish that all weeks were as fun as this one! Please let me know about your halloween clelebrations

Weekend wind-up: Birthday preparations, New in Charlotte Tilbury and Capsule Wardrobes

It's that time again, I don't know where another week has gone! This week I have been very busy organising my birthday tea party. I absolutely LOVE going for afternoon tea so I decided I would host my own tea party. I got some lovely decorations from partypieces.co.uk. They were so reasonably priced. I picked up 2 cardboard cake stands, napkins, paper plates, cups, balloons, bunting, paper chains, table cloth, table confetti all for under £30! Let me know if you would like to see a post all about the food and hosting your own tea party.

I also started a capsule wardrobe experiment series on my blog. Every Saturday for the next 4 weeks will be a 'week in outfits' using 32 pieces in my capsule collection. If you missed them, here is part 1 and part 2. I am really enjoying it so far and haven't bought any new clothes yet. Let's see if I can last for the next 3 months!

I also reviewed the new cat eyes to hypnotise collection on my blog here. They are the perfect little sets for a Christmas party makeup look.

After reading the Beautylookbook's post on 5 brands to try at Space NK, I would really like to try the Magnetic Eye colour pencils from Nudestix in the colour Twilight and Spirit. She did some lovely swatches if you want to check them out here. Have any of you tried them? What do you think?

I would love to know what you have been up to this week, leave a comment below

Weekend wind-up: BBC big band, Charlotte tilbury foundations, planning my birthday celebrations and turkish food!

This week has been quite a quiet one. The only thing I really did (apart from work) was I went out for dinner and to see the BBC big band on Tuesday at the Hackney Empire. I'm a big fan of big band music and this did not disappoint. This was a celebration concert featuring the work or Nelson Riddle. The concert featured Claire Teal, Graham Bickley and Curtis Stigers. There were so many popular tunes from Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Nat 'King' Cole, Judy Garland and many more. If you haven't seen them I thoroughly recommend going to see them as everyone can enjoy such great live Jazz music.

Before the show I went to Anatolia's turkish restaurant in Hackney. I've been many times before and the quality is always superb. I had a mixed grill which has Chicken, lamb shish, kofte, lamb chops, rice and salad. For 2 people it is £18. The meat is incredible, they also do vegetarian options with falafel and halloumi. I definitely recommend going if you are in East London.

Now we are getting into October, I've started to think about my birthday. I would like to go to a Spa and out for a meal with my friends. So far Belton woods is at the top of my list. It is situated in Grantham, Lincolnshire which is close to my parents. You can have bed, breakfast, dinner, a night in the hotel and a 30 minute treatment for £79- bargain!
I also would like to go to Mem and Laz in Islington, London as this is my favourite restaurant in Angel (Probably in the whole of London!). If you go before 6pm you can have 3 courses for £9.95

I have also written a blogpost this week on which Charlotte tilbury foundation to choose- the wonder glow or the magic foundation? Check it out here

Weekend- wind-up: Go ape, Michael McIntyre and a Mexican night

This week has been a really fun one. It's a shame they are not all like this. I had my boyfriend's sisters to stay for a few days and we squashed in as many fun things as possible!
Go Ape!
We started by going to Go Ape! I've been to this before but this time they have added some extra sections to the course. It was so much fun. We went on ladders, zipwires, kamikaze swings and along lots of different obstacles that got higher and higher. Even I was a little scared and I'm not afraid of heights! I definitely recommend going with friends or family if you like to adventure, it was a great thing to do together as you could all cheer each other on.
Another wishlist!
If you didn't see my wishlist post you can view it here. There's so many lovely things around at the moment. Especially homeware. I'm finding it hard to choose! I particularly love the hanging photos and the rocking chair.
Michael McIntyre Happy & Glorious tour
I also went to see Michael McIntyre at the 02 last Sunday. I'm quite fussy when it comes to comedy and Peter Kay and Michael McIntyre are the only ones I really laugh at. I can't say I was disappointed. I was literally crying with laughter. I love his humour as it is based on real life situations that you can relate to which make me really giggle. I thoroughly recommend buying the DVD when it comes out.
Mexican night
I was invited round one of my friends this week for a Mexican night. We had fajitas and tacos and all things mexican. It was such a lovely idea and was a really fun evening. I think I'm going to try this themed idea and host a greek night myself!

I hope you had a lovely week, please let me know what you have been up to!

Weekend wind up: Wish lists, birthday celebrations, beetroot cake and a few new purchases!

This week has been a really fun one. I went shopping, ate beetroot cake for the first time and went to my friends 29th birthday party.

A few new purchases
I went to Westfield on friday and picked up a few new bits. I bought two pairs of earrings from Orelia in topshop. I got these beautiful marble effect squares with a rose gold edging and these silver bar studs. There doesn't seem to be as many Orelia products on the topshop website as there are in store so I definitely recommend checking out the Orelia website here.

I also bought some more hair grips from H&M as I have been wearing my hair half up, half down a lot more recently and these clips are great for that.
From H&M I bought this little 'have a nice day' mat which I thought would be great for instagram photos and using in backgrounds (can't find online but they are near the tills in the homeware section).
Next, I went to boots and picked up this sensational gel polish to try in 'taupe tulips'. I have been using the CND shellac colours and thought I would give this a try. Watch this space for my thoughts...

And finally I picked up another Rimmel stay matte powder in transparent. This is so cheap and does exactly what it says on the tin. I've got through a couple of these now and really love it.

Wishlists
I also wrote a blog post all about what I have on my wishlist for my birthday! There will be another wishlist post coming your way soon, but if you missed it you can click here to see everything that I'm in love with.

Birthday celebrations
And finally I ended the week with a birthday party for one of my close friends. We all went round for drinks, nibble and of course.... birthday cake! This was a cake with a difference- it had beetroot in it! Now I'm all for vegetables in cake, carrot cake is my absolute favourite. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. It was really tasty and you couldn't really tell that it was made from vegetables. Healthy(ish) and tasty- bonus!

I hope that you had a good weekend

Weekend wind- up: New in from Charlotte Tilbury, cycling to work, bath bombs, coat swooning and pizza!

It's that time of the week again where I gather together all of the things I've been up to, swooning over and let you know my thoughts.

First up is this coat from topshop. I haven't got a grey coat and I have been searching for a new winter coat for a while now. This is the slouchy boucle wool blend coat £85. I definitely want to go and try this on in store next time I go shopping!

I've also been finding myself taking more baths now the weather is getting colder. I lovely having a warm bath and then snuggling up on the sofa watching a film. This is my current favourite from Lush. It is the intergalactic bath bomb with peppermint, grapefruit, vetiver and cedar wood oil. When you put it in the bath it goes blue, yellow, pink and glittery- what more could you want?!?

I've also been eyeing up the Charlotte Tilbury miracle eye wand that is due to come out tomorrow (Monday 21st September). I'm excited to try this. Apparently it took 5 years in the making and creates the appearance of 8 hours sleep! It comes in 5 shades and has two ends.
1) A hydrating eye cream
2) Light reflector to banish those dark circles
Have any of you been able to have a sneaky peek? What do you think?

I have also been cycling to work. At my last job it was only 1.3miles away so cycling was a doddle. My new job is 9.1 miles. I hate relying and travelling on public transport in London because if there are any delays, I'm late. On the bus, 2 trains and walk route (Yes that's right!) it takes 1hour 15minutes with no delays. The cycling route takes 1hour 5minutes so I am already getting there faster. I hope to cut this down a bit as I get used to the longer commute but I am really proud that I am doing this. Hopefully it will be good for my waistline too!

Lastly, I met up with a few old work colleagues at Pizza express. I had the Padana pizza which was delicious and possibly the best cheesecake I've ever had. The honeycomb cream slice. I seriously recommend trying this next time you go to Pizza express- it was to die for!

I hope you have had a good weekend

Weekend wind-up: new rug, candles lit, autumn fashion and baking!

Happy Sunday everyone! This week I have been chilling out at home more in the evenings as the weather has been getting colder. I have been snuggling up more on my sofa with candles lit. This Mandarin cranberry Yankee candle is my absolute favourite. It smells fruity with a hint of spice to it- perfect for autumn winter. I love this time of year, hearty pies/ soups, coats, scarves and lot's of spice in your coffee!

I also finally chose which rug to buy for my new kitchen/ living room. I choose this pastel geomet multicolour rug from benuta.co.uk for only £29.95- bargain! Compared to the £300 ones on the John Lewis/ habitat websites I am really pleased with this one, it is the perfect size to fit in the L Shape gap by my sofa. I will take some photos when it arrives.

I have also been perusing various clothing websites at new coats, scarves, knitwear- anything autumn related! If you missed it, you can see my edit with all links here.

Finally, on Saturday I did some baking. I've been watching the Great British bake off and it inspired me to get baking again. I have make this Marry Berry carrot cake before and it is a winner every time. It is so easy because you can just throw all the ingredients in one bowl and boom- it's delicious. You can find the recipe here. After all it's healthy because it's got carrot it- right?!?

Thanks for reading. I hope you are having a lovely weekend

Weekend wind-up: New job, shopping for a rug, magic foundation and nail stamping!

It's been a busy week here. On Tuesday I started my new job part-time three days a week. It's been exciting but also stressful as there has been a lot of building work done and it isn't quite finished! I'm going to be teaching three days and juggling everything else on the remaining days of the week. I'm sure it will be great fun when I'm settled in and everything is finished!

As you may have seen, I recently got a new kitchen and some easy geometric prints to go on the wall. Next on my shopping list is a new rug for the living space. I have found quite a few I like on the John Lewis, habitat, carpet right websites so watch this space. I think I've narrowed it done to these four but they may be a bit big. Which one is your favourite?

I also bought a new throw from habitat to go on the end of my bed. It was half price and looks lovely on my white bedsheets with some cushions. You can find it here for £17- bargain. It is also reversible with a slightly different pattern so you are getting 2 for the price of 1!.

I also bought some nail art stamps. I do my own DIY shellac nails at home but I recently used ordinary nail polish glitter underneath a shellac top coat and it stay on for ages. Stay tuned for a review and photos coming soon.

What have you been up to recently? Seen any nice home things that I should check out?

Weekend wind-up: Anastasia contour kit, ASOS jumpsuit, tidying up and Matthew Herbert concert

Unfortunately it is getting to the end of the Summer holidays and I can't believe where it's gone! Here's a run down of what I've been up to.
ASOS
I recently saw this jumpsuit and fell in love, I still haven't taken the plunge but it might just happen this week. It's from River Island on ASOS and have culotte style shorts. You can buy it here. I really like the back swell as it has spaghetti cross and shoulder strappy- very pretty!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour palette
I bought this from Sephora when I placed another order to replace my broken Becca highlighter. I have been playing with this and I really love it. The highlighter on the top right is really pretty with a hint of shimmer. This is a great palette as it has a bit of everything, pale shades, highlights, bronzer, contour.
The life changing magic of tidying
I've seen this book appear on a few youtube and blogs recently and though I would give it a read. I try to keep my tiny London flat as tidy as I can but I have so much stuff and find it hard to throw things out- let's hope that this changes my thinking and I can live a minimlistic life! (Hmm)
Matthew Herbert concert at the Southbank
I went to see Matthew Herbert at Queen Elizabeth Hall because my boyfriend was playing in the horn section. He performed house music from his new album The Shakes. There were two new singers Ade Omotayo and Rahel Debebe-Dessalegne. I was really surprised how good this was. I didn't really know what to expect but it was amazing, the audience were all up dancing and it has a great vibe. It was a fusion on dance/house music with a jazz/pop mix. Ade Omotayo was incredible, he used to sing with Any Winehouse. I definitely recommend checking him out.

Weekend wind-up: Sephora Haul, joining a sport's team, looking at holidays and enjoying the warm weather

It's been quite a busy week here, I have been working on a course this week and it's been pretty tiring. Saying that- it hasn't stopped me from spending too much time trawling the internet for holidays and new ventures.
Sephora Haul
Oooops! I recently went to France and I was quite disappointed that the Sephora's in Europe do not stock a lot of the items that I had on my shopping list. When will Sephora make it to the UK! There will be an online haul coming your way including purchases from Becca, Tarte and Marc Jacobs.
Joining a sport's team
I have been finding myself looking through various websites to find somewhere to join a sports team. I cycle to work but I'm not really a fan of going to the gym. I much prefer playing netball, tennis etc with friends and having a competitive element to sport. I think it would be a great way of making new friends and getting fit at the same time. I found some good information here. It allows you to put in your postcode to find teams or partners in your area. Do you know of anywhere good in London to join a team sport? Do you already take part in something fun and exciting?
Looking at holidays
As the summer is coming to a close, I am starting to feel a bit sad that I haven't got another holiday to look forward to. I have seen a few nice places in Greece, Morocco and Croatia. Have you got any recommendations? Did you go anywhere that you would recommend this summer?
Enjoying the warm weather
Even though I have been working on a course, I have been thoroughly enjoying my time out in the sunshine, it really does cheer you up and keeps the French tan going a bit longer! I really don't want to start wearing coats again just yet. Please let it keep going a bit longer sunshine!
